Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 182 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Friday, April 1, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 83.37 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, East Jakarta City, West Jakarta City, Mimika, and North Jakarta City, with ratios of 980.9 percent, 820.87 percent, 766.47 percent, 691.52 percent, and 665.04 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 980.9 percent. The latest positive rate is 1.44 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is East Jakarta City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 820.87 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 3.33 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, West Jakarta City recorded 766.47 percent testing; Mimika, with a population of 221,810, recorded 691.52 percent weekly testing; and North Jakarta City recorded 665.04 percent testing.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 113 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report higher daily weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 267 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Metro City, with weekly testing percentages of 980.9 percent, 691.52 percent, and 511.43 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
