The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Bandung (855 people), Kutai Kartanegara (847 people), Purwakarta (781 people), Medan (719 people), and Palembang (719 people).
Bandung ranks first, with 855 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.09 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Kutai Kartanegara, with a population of 802,710. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 847 people were tested per week. The positive rate in this region is 0 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Purwakarta recorded 781 tests per week, while Medan and Palembang each recorded 719 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 85 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 254 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of tests per week include Kutai Kartanegara, Medan, and Palembang, with 847, 719, and 719 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
