The scarcity of cooking oil in Indonesia is now easing compared to a few months ago. However, some people still complain about the difficulty in obtaining this staple.

According to a survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia, 54.3% of respondents admitted to having difficulty obtaining cooking oil. This percentage is lower than in the two previous similar surveys.

In the survey conducted on April 14-19, 2022, 83.7% of respondents experienced difficulty obtaining cooking oil. This percentage decreased to 74.9% in the survey period of April 20-25, 2022.

Furthermore, the survey also showed that the majority, or 71.4% of respondents, found it difficult to obtain cooking oil due to the unaffordable price. Then, 27.6% of respondents cited limited availability of cooking oil, and 1% did not answer.

This survey was conducted from May 18-24, 2022, involving 1,213 respondents across Indonesia. The survey used a random digit dialing (RDD) method. The margin of error (MoE) is approximately 2.9% at a 95% confidence level.
