Based on a Kurious survey by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), Asus is the most popular laptop brand in Indonesia.
80.9% of respondents are familiar with the Asus laptop brand. The next two most popular laptop brands in Indonesia are Acer and Lenovo, with 79.2% and 74.5% of respondents recognizing them, respectively.
Brand recognition for other laptop brands is lower, as shown in the graph.
The majority of respondents (76.7%) remember the laptop brand because they use several products from that brand. A significantly smaller percentage (40%) recognized laptop brands through television advertisements.
Although the most popular, Asus is not the most widely used laptop brand in Indonesia according to the Kurious-KIC survey. Acer holds the top spot as the most used laptop brand by respondents in the past year, with a proportion of 34.3%.
Asus ranks second, used by 32.6% of respondents, while Lenovo, HP, Dell, Samsung, Apple, Axioo, Xiaomi, MSI, and Microsoft were used by approximately 26.7% to 1.7% of respondents.
Kurious-KIC surveyed 885 respondents spread across various regions of Indonesia, with 49.2% male respondents and 50.8% female respondents.
More than half of the respondents are from Java Island (excluding Jakarta) at 61.4%, followed by Jakarta (14.6%), and Sumatra (12.4%). Respondents from Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku-Papua ranged from 0.7% to 3.3%.
Most respondents were aged between 35-44 years (31.4%), followed by the 25-34 age group (29.2%) and the 45-54 age group (23.2%).
The survey was conducted from February 28th to March 9th, 2023, using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method, with a margin of error of approximately 3.29% and a 95% confidence level.
