Indonesia's Covid-19 Drug Stock Reaches 110 Million Units

The Ministry of Health reports that Indonesia currently has a total stock of 110 million COVID-19 medications. The most abundant medication is Favipiravir, with 85 million units. Oseltamivir follows in second place with 12 million units.

Throughout September, the government is also increasing medication availability through the import of three types of drugs. These imports include 288,000 units of Remdesivir, 3,000 units of Tocilizumab 400mg/20ml, and 1,800 units of IVIg 5% 50mg.

Domestic production and imports are undertaken to prevent shortages and meet the anticipated high demand for COVID-19 medications. The Ministry of Health estimates that by the end of September, the demand for Favipiravir will reach 15 million units, Remdesivir 326,000 units, and Oseltamivir 207,000 units.

Including the imported medications, the total stock of COVID-19 drugs by the end of September will reach 135 million units. These medications are distributed across more than 3,300 pharmacies nationwide. Currently, 17 pharmacy providers regularly report daily stock levels to the Ministry of Health.

In addition to COVID-19 medications, the government assures that multivitamin supplies will be more than sufficient. With a stock of 49 million multivitamins and an estimated demand of 6 million by the end of September, multivitamin supplies are expected to remain secure until the end of the year.
