List of Indonesian Consumers' Favorite Chocolate Brands: Is Yours on the List?

Chocolate is a sweet food made from processed cocoa beans. Many chocolate brands are currently sold on the market. So, which brand is the favorite of Indonesian consumers?

Based on a survey by the Kurious-Katadata Insight Center (KIC), SilverQueen is the chocolate brand most consumed by Indonesian consumers. The majority, or 93.7% of respondents, admitted to regularly consuming this brand.

Cadbury chocolate ranks second, consumed by 49.6% of respondents. This is followed by Delfi and Nestle KitKat brands, consumed by 40% and 25.2% of respondents, respectively.

Not only is it the most consumed, SilverQueen is also the most popular chocolate brand in Indonesia.

According to the Kurious-KIC survey, 96.4% of respondents are aware of the brand. Meanwhile, competing brands such as Cadbury and Delfi are only known by 79.3% and 72.2% of respondents, respectively.

Note that respondents in this survey could choose more than one chocolate brand.

This survey was conducted on 605 respondents spread across various parts of Indonesia, with 54.9% male respondents and 45.1% female respondents.

63.3% of respondents came from the island of Java (excluding Jakarta), followed by respondents from DKI Jakarta (15%), and Sumatra (11.7%).

The proportion of respondents from Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku-Papua ranged from 0.05% to 3.6%.

Most respondents were from the 35-44 age group (33.6%), followed by the 25-34 age group (29.4%) and the 45-54 age group (20.8%).

Data collection was conducted from July 26 to August 3, 2023, using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method with a margin of error of approximately 3.98% and a 95% confidence level.
