There are various types of cookies or snacks commonly consumed by Indonesians during Lebaran or Idul Fitri.
According to a survey by the Kurious-Katadata Insight Center (KIC), the most popular cookie for celebrating Lebaran is nastar, with 82.9% of respondents choosing it.
Other typical Lebaran snacks most prepared by respondents include putri salju (56.2%), peanuts (50.7%), kastengel (45.1%), and butter cookies (38.4%).
Some respondents also prepared various other cookies and snacks to celebrate Lebaran, but the proportion was smaller, as shown in the graph above.
The Kurious-KIC survey also found that the majority of respondents made their own Lebaran cookies (57.5%). Others bought them from shops (54.2%), friends or relatives (44.6%), or received them as gifts from relatives and family (26.6%).
