The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) revealed that several companies dominated the packaged food and beverage market in Indonesia in 2024.
In its *Food Processing Ingredients Annual* report, Indofood was the company with the largest retail sales value of packaged food in Indonesia last year, reaching US$4.62 billion or Rp75.3 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp16,282 per US$).
The USDA explained that Indofood's products include ready-to-eat (dry) foods, powdered broth, sauces (pasta sauce, cooking sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce), baby food, butter and spreads, ready-to-drink liquid milk products, ice cream, snacks, biscuits, noodles, and pasta.
"Indofood continues to lead the packaged food market in Indonesia. The company has a broader product portfolio, including both local and multinational brands," wrote the USDA, as quoted on Friday (May 23, 2025).
Next is Mayora Indah, with sales reaching US$2.47 billion or Rp40.23 trillion. This company produces biscuits, packaged beverages, candies, wafers and chocolate, coffee, cereals, and instant noodles.

Followed by Danone Group at US$2.06 billion or Rp33.55 trillion. This group produces bottled beverages, baby food, and milk for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
Outside the top three, sales were less than US$2 billion. Companies such as Wings Corp, Nestle, Royal Campina, Unilever, Garuda Food, and Coca-Cola Indonesia are among the top 10.
The USDA noted that many products from these top 10 companies are sold through modern retail stores.
"The rapid expansion of supermarkets, which largely stock locally produced products, has helped expand the distribution of packaged food throughout Indonesia," wrote the USDA.
