So, how much do Indonesian consumers spend on facial soap each month?
According to a Kurious survey from the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), the majority, or 37.2% of respondents, spend between Rp30,000 and Rp50,000 per month on facial soap.
Then, 24% of respondents spend Rp50,000-Rp80,000 per month, 19.9% allocate less than Rp30,000 per month, and 10.2% spend Rp80,000-Rp110,000 per month on the product.
Only a small number of respondents spend more than Rp110,000 per month on facial soap, with details as shown in the graph.
Kurious-KIC conducted this survey on 717 respondents spread across various regions of Indonesia, with 48.3% male respondents and 51.7% female respondents.
More than half of the respondents are from Java Island excluding Jakarta (63%), followed by Jakarta (15.2%), and Sumatra (11.3%). Respondents from Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku-Papua range from 0.4% to 3.1%.
Most respondents are aged between 35-44 years (32.4%), followed by the 25-34 years group (28.3%) and the 45-54 years group (22.7%).
The survey was conducted from March 9-17, 2023, using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method, with a margin of error of approximately 3.66% and a 95% confidence level.
