Buying new clothes before Eid al-Fitr is a long-standing tradition in Indonesia.

According to a JakPat survey, online shopping activity increased in the third week of Ramadan 2022.

The most purchased product by respondents during online shopping was clothing, with a percentage of 38% in the third week of Ramadan.

This percentage increased compared to the first week of Ramadan, which was still at 28%, and the second week at 33%, as shown in the graph.

Then, 21% of respondents bought Muslim clothing during the third week of Ramadan, up from the first and second weeks, which both had a percentage of 20%.

Other products that were widely purchased include body care products, skincare products, and shoes, with percentages of 19% each.

Respondents who bought these three products in the third week of Ramadan saw an increase, except for skincare products, which decreased from 20% in the first week and 23% in the second week.

Meanwhile, the majority, or 63%, of respondents spent less than Rp500,000 on online shopping during the third week of Ramadan.

The details are that 35% of respondents spent less than Rp300,000 and 28% spent Rp300,000 to Rp500,000.

This survey was conducted from April 19-21, 2022, involving 1,042 Muslim respondents. The margin of error in this survey is below 3%.
