The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's farmer exchange rate (NTP) in July 2022 was 104.2. This figure is down 1.61% compared to the previous month's NTP of 105.96.

The decrease in NTP was due to a decline in the price index of agricultural production, while the price index of goods and services consumed by households, as well as production costs and the addition of capital goods, increased.

The decrease in NTP in July 2022 was also influenced by the decline in NTP in two agricultural sub-sectors, namely the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.62% and the People's Plantation Crops sub-sector by 6.63%.

Meanwhile, three other sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the Horticultural Crops sub-sector by 4.91%, the Livestock sub-sector by 0.34%, and the Fisheries sub-sector by 0.18%.

Of the 34 provinces, 25 experienced a decrease in NTP, while the remaining 9 provinces experienced an increase.

Riau province experienced the largest decrease in NTP, namely 11.43% month-on-month. Conversely, the NTP of the Riau Islands Province experienced the highest increase, namely 1.7%.
