According to data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS), the average price of chicken eggs in Indonesia has reached Rp30,000 per kilogram in the last week.
On August 23, 2022, the highest chicken egg price was recorded in Papua, at Rp39,650 per kilogram. The price of chicken eggs in this province has remained static at Rp39,000 per kilogram since August 7, 2022.
The next highest chicken egg prices were recorded in Maluku at Rp39,600 per kilogram, followed by Gorontalo at Rp36,850 per kilogram, Central Sulawesi at Rp34,600 per kilogram, and West Papua at Rp34,000 per kilogram.
Following these are North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, East Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, and North Kalimantan, with egg prices as shown in the graph.
The lowest chicken egg price was recorded in Jambi at Rp25,400 per kilogram on August 23, 2022.
Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian People's Poultry Farmers Association (PPRN), Alvino Antonio, stated that this chicken egg price is the highest in history.
"Yes, it's true, this is the highest (egg price) in history. It has reached over Rp30,000 in the market," said Alvino as reported by *Kompas.com*, Monday (August 22, 2022).
However, on the other hand, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan considered this issue not worth making a fuss about.
"Oh, that's the price increase of chicken eggs, it's not that much, don't make a fuss about it. The US$3.2 billion trade agreement with India is what should be written about," said Zulkifli to reporters, quoted from *Katadata.co.id*, Tuesday (August 23, 2022).
