The Price of Dry Milled Rice at the Farmer Level Increased by 3.27% in November 2018

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the price of milled dry paddy (gkg) at the farmer level in November 2018 increased by 3.27% to Rp 5,646/kg from the previous month and also increased by 0.95% compared to November 2017. Similarly, the price of unmilled dry paddy (gkp) increased by 3.63% to Rp 5,116/kg from the previous month and increased by 5.18% compared to the price in November of the previous year.

Paddy prices at the farmer level have shown an upward trend over the past four months, for both gkg and gkp. The price of gkg in November has increased by 8.45%, and similarly, the price of gkp has increased by 10.43% over the past four months.

The increase in paddy prices at the farmer level has caused rice prices at the mill to also rise. For low-quality rice, the price in November 2018 increased by 2.52% to Rp 9,426/kg from the previous month. Similarly, medium-quality rice increased by 2.2% to Rp 9,604/kg, and premium-quality rice increased by 1.31% to Rp 9,771/kg from the previous month.
