Top 10 Indonesian Provinces with the Highest Farmer and Rancher Welfare in November 2021

The welfare of livestock farmers in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) province is the highest nationally. In fact, the welfare level of livestock farmers in this province is higher than the national average, which reached 99.56, and also higher than other provinces.

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the livestock farmer exchange rate (NTPT) in Kalteng was at 108.74 in November 2021. This figure indicates that the welfare of livestock farmers in the province increased by 8.74% from the initial position of the index calculation, namely 2018=100.

Besides Kalteng, livestock farmers in West Nusa Tenggara have the second highest NTPT at 108.64. Followed by Papua with an NTPT of 108.55, Bangka Belitung Islands with an NTPT of 108.42, and East Kalimantan with an NTPT of 107.15.

The next provinces with the highest NTPT are East Nusa Tenggara with an NTPT of 106.97. After that is West Papua with an NTPT of 105.84, then Gorontalo with an NTPT of 105.36, and Maluku and North Kalimantan with NTPTs of 105.3 and 104.8 respectively.

An NTPT score > 100 indicates that livestock farmers experience a surplus, where income is greater than expenses. Then, an NTPT score = 100 reflects that farmers break even, with income received equal to expenses paid. Meanwhile, an NTPT score < 100 means that farmers experience a deficit because the income received is less than the expenses incurred.
