PT Hutama Karya (Persero) recorded an average daily traffic (ADT) of 56,000 vehicles on the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) until October 31, 2023.

This figure is up 15% year-on-year (yoy) compared to the same period last year, which reached 49,000 vehicles per day.

Hutama Karya's Executive Vice President (EVP) and Corporate Secretary, Tjahjo Purnomo, stated that the highest traffic on the JTTS was on the Pekanbaru-Dumai (Permai) Toll Road section, with an average volume of 16,000 vehicles per day.

“This high traffic is supported by the high interest of the people of Riau Province in shortening their commute to work or simply enjoying weekend getaways,” said Tjahjo in his official statement on Tuesday (7/11/2023).

Traffic on other JTTS toll road sections tends to be more stable. For example, the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung (Terpeka) Toll Road has a daily volume of 14,000 vehicles.

Then, traffic on the Palembang-Indralaya Toll Road is 8,400 vehicles per day, the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road 8,200, and the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road 4,700.

Meanwhile, traffic on the Sigli-Banda Aceh and Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Roads is quite low, at 3,000 and 1,500 vehicles per day, respectively.

Hutama Karya predicts that by the end of this year, JTTS traffic will increase by 19% (yoy) and will be traversed by 59,000 vehicles daily.

Currently, Hutama Karya is preparing services for the Christmas and New Year period by conducting routine maintenance on all toll road sections.

"In addition, we are also preparing standby personnel, additional facilities, and anti-congestion strategies for the safety and comfort of toll road users," said Tjahjo.
