Toll road operator Jasa Marga recorded 951,758 vehicles leaving the Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area between D-10 and D-5 of the 2022 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
This number represents a 9.4% increase compared to normal traffic volume.
The figure is a cumulative total from four toll gates (GT): Cikampek Utama toll gate towards Trans Java, Kalihurip Utama toll gate towards Bandung, Cikupa toll gate towards Merak, and Ciawi toll gate towards Puncak.
Between April 22 and 27, 2022, 287,814 vehicles left Jabodetabek via Cikampek Utama toll gate towards Trans Java.
183,230 vehicles headed towards Bandung via Kalihurip Utama toll gate.
289,122 vehicles went towards Merak via Cikupa toll gate, and 191,592 vehicles went towards Puncak via Ciawi toll gate.
This traffic flow is expected to continue increasing as Eid al-Fitr approaches. Especially since the joint Eid al-Fitr leave begins today, Friday, April 29, 2022.
The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) predicts that the peak of the 2022 Eid al-Fitr exodus will occur between April 28 and 30, 2022.
