Mandatory Online Booking! Ferry Ticket Prices for Merak-Bakauheni Route Ahead of the 2023 Christmas and New Year Holiday Season

As the Christmas and New Year holidays approach, PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Bakauheni Branch, Lampung, is making several preparations. The General Manager of PT. ASDP Bakauheni Branch, Suharto, stated that port management predicts a surge in passengers crossing from Java Island to Sumatra via Bakauheni port.

"The increase in passengers is estimated to be 13 percent higher than last year," said Suharto, as quoted from Katadata.co.id, Tuesday (20/12).

To anticipate the passenger surge, Suharto said the port has prepared additional parking areas for 6,300 small vehicles. For large vehicles, 2,300 parking spaces have been prepared.

During the 2023 Christmas and New Year holidays, ASDP Bakauheni has prepared 7 docks; six regular docks and one executive dock. In addition, ASDP has also prepared 65 ships for the crossing. Suharto hopes that the various anticipatory measures will ensure the comfort and safety of passenger crossings during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

During the 2023 Christmas and New Year holidays, ASDP management will implement the usual online ticket purchasing system. ASDP will not sell tickets on-site; passengers must purchase Merak-Bakauheni ferry tickets online.

Online ticket counters will not be available at the port. However, passengers can purchase tickets online through the Ferizy application, or through Brilink Agents, Alfamart, Indomaret, and Finpay. Purchases through agents remain online.

For independent ticket purchases, passengers can use the Ferizy application. Passengers need to download the application first, and ticket bookings can be made at least two hours before departure.

The fares for ferry crossings at Merak-Bakauheni port vary depending on the type of transportation used. Passengers can also cross without using a vehicle. The Merak-Bakauheni crossing fares are the same as those set on October 1, 2022.
