The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has granted PLN permission to develop a rooftop solar power plant (PLTS) system.
According to *Katadata*, the development quota reaches 5,746 megawatts (MW) during 2024-2028. This is stipulated in the Decree of the Director General of Electricity of the Ministry of ESDM Number 279.K/TL.03/DJL.2/2024.
The details of the development in 11 power systems are as follows: 901 MW in 2024; 1,004 MW in 2025; 1,065 MW in 2026; 1,183 MW in 2027; and 1,593 MW in 2028.
Through this decree, the Ministry of ESDM requests PLN to compile the development quota of the rooftop PLTS system based on clustering, referring to the quota that has been determined.
"PLN is obliged to report the quota for the development of the rooftop PLTS system based on clustering as referred to in the second Dictum to the Director General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation," reads the Decree of the Director General of Electricity Number 279, as quoted by *Katadata*, Monday (10/6/2024).
Other obligations include publishing the development of the rooftop PLTS system based on clustering through the company's website, application, and/or social media. Furthermore, PLN must submit a report on the use of the rooftop PLTS system for each tariff category in each electricity system area to the Director General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE).
Previously, the installation of rooftop PLTS had to apply quota regulations based on the Minister of ESDM Regulation Number 2 of 2024. Andriah Feby Misna, Director of New and Renewable Energy at the Directorate General of EBTKE, Ministry of ESDM, said that holders of Business Permits for the Provision of Electricity for Public Interest (IUPTLU) were requested to propose quotas for the rooftop PLTS system by April 2024 at the latest.
