Ahead of the 2023 Christmas Holiday, Outbound Vehicles from Jabodetabek Increase by 18%

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 309,733 vehicles leaving the Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area on December 18-19, 2023 (H-7 and H-6 of Christmas 2023).

This figure is a cumulative count of traffic flow from four main toll gates: Cikupa Toll Gate (towards Merak), Ciawi Toll Gate (towards Puncak), Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (towards Trans Java), and Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate (towards Bandung).

The total outbound traffic volume from Jabodetabek in the lead-up to Christmas 2023 increased by 18.17% compared to normal days.

"Compared to the Christmas 2022 period, the total traffic volume increased by 4.69% (295,857 vehicles)," Jasa Marga wrote in its release.

On December 18-19, 2023, the highest number of vehicles leaving Jabodetabek passed through the Cikupa Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, totaling 107,697 vehicles (a 15.23% increase from normal traffic).

This was followed by 74,423 vehicles passing through the Ciawi Toll Gate on the Jagorawi Toll Road (up 17.83%), and 64,399 vehicles through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (up 25.97%).

Meanwhile, 63,214 vehicles left Jabodetabek towards Bandung via the Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate on the Cipularang Toll Road (up 16.30%).

Jasa Marga urged toll road users to anticipate potential travel risks during the Christmas 2023 holiday period, including ensuring their vehicles are in optimal condition, wearing masks in rest areas, ensuring sufficient fuel and electronic money balance, and following the instructions of on-site officers.
