This was the most common type of PLN power plant in 2021.

State-owned electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero), or PLN, reported a total of 6,143 power plant units at the end of 2021.

Of these, 5,258 units were Diesel Power Plants (PLTD), accounting for 85.59% of the total power plant units used.

There were also 193 units (3.14%) of mobile Gas Engine Power Plants (PLTMG). Furthermore, 162 units (2.64%) were Hydroelectric Power Plants (PLTA).

There were also 150 units (2.44%) of Wind Power Plants (PLTB), 126 units (2.05%) of Steam Power Plants (PLTU), and 254 units (2.4%) using other energy sources.

For information, PLN's installed power plant capacity reached 44.46 gigawatt hours (GWH) in 2021. Meanwhile, the power plant's capacity was 38.31 GWH.
