Beware of Stagnation, Toll Road Development During Jokowi's Era is Huge

President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) administration continues to accelerate the construction of several toll road infrastructures, some of which are targeted for completion in 2024.

First, there is the construction of the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap (Getaci) toll road. This toll road will be the longest in Indonesia, spanning 206.65 kilometers. It is expected to alleviate congestion on the southern Java route.

Sections 1 & 2 of the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya toll road are targeted for completion in 2024. Sections 3 & 4, from Tasikmalaya to Cilacap, are targeted for completion in 2029.

The Getaci toll road is one of the National Strategic Projects, absorbing up to Rp56 trillion in funding. This infrastructure development is carried out through Public-Private Partnerships (KPBU).

Second, the construction of the Semarang Seawall 'Atlantis' toll road. This project is part of a Public-Private Partnership (KPBU) scheme for the 27-km Semarang-Demak Toll Road, integrated with the Semarang City Seawall, with an investment value of Rp15 trillion.

Third, the construction of the Yogyakarta-Bawen toll road, targeted for completion in 2024. This 75.82-km Yogyakarta-Bawen toll road project commenced with a groundbreaking ceremony in Sleman, Yogyakarta, in late March 2022, with a significant investment value of Rp14.26 trillion.
