These are the 10 Indonesian provinces with the lowest clean water production in 2022; West Papua had the lowest.

Based on a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) titled *Clean Water Statistics 2018-2022*, the volume of clean water production throughout Indonesia reached 5.26 billion cubic meters (m³) in 2022. This volume increased slightly by 0.28% from 2021, which was 5.25 billion m³.

However, clean water production in Indonesia varies significantly across regions. The BPS report shows that several provinces produced only small amounts of clean water last year.

West Papua was the province with the least clean water production in 2022. The volume of clean water production in that province was recorded at only 5.5 million m³, or approximately 0.1% of the total national clean water production last year.

Bangka Belitung Islands ranked second nationally for the lowest clean water production, at 10.68 million m³. This was followed by West Sulawesi and Maluku, as shown in the chart above.

Meanwhile, East Java was the province with the highest clean water production in Indonesia in 2022. The province produced 810.82 million m³, or approximately 15.4% of the total domestic clean water production.

Following East Java, the highest clean water production was in DKI Jakarta (635.09 million m³), Central Java (627.61 million m³), West Java (513.24 million m³), and North Sumatra (364.11 million m³).

On a monthly basis, Indonesia's clean water production in 2022 was highest in January, at 447.17 million m³/month, while the lowest production was 419.79 million m³/month in February.
