Accelerating the electricity provision program through synergy between the National Budget (APBN) and Regional Budget (APBD), as well as from the state-owned electricity company's budget, for the most remote, extensive, and underdeveloped areas, provides opportunities for the private sector to increase the utilization of local New and Renewable Energy (EBT) resources.
As a result, the 2017 electrification ratio reached 94.91 percent, exceeding the target of 92.75 percent. Meanwhile, the electrification target for 2018 is 95.15 percent, and it is projected to reach 100 percent by 2025. This means that all Indonesian citizens will have access to electricity within the next seven years.
For information, the installed power plant capacity at the end of 2017 reached 60 Gigawatts (GW), and this year it is targeted to increase to 65 GW. Meanwhile, last year's electricity consumption reached 1,012 kilowatt-hours per capita (kWh), and this year it is projected to increase to 1,129 kWh.
