According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), in May 2023, wholesale sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in the domestic market reached 1,561 units.
This figure represents a 21% increase compared to April 2023 (month-on-month/mom) and a staggering 680% increase compared to May of the previous year (year-on-year/yoy).
Cumulatively, from January to May 2023, wholesale sales of BEVs reached 4,648 units.
During this period, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Signature Extended was the top-selling BEV in terms of wholesale sales, followed by the Wuling Air EV Long Range.
