The number of domestic air passengers in August 2022 reached 4.3 million, a 15.06 percent decrease compared to July 2022. This passenger decline occurred at all observed airports.
Specifically, the number of passengers at Juanda-Surabaya Airport decreased by 22.80 percent. Meanwhile, passenger numbers at Hasanuddin-Makassar Airport fell by 18.26 percent, Ngurah Rai-Denpasar Airport by 16.41 percent, Kualanamu-Medan Airport by 16.13 percent, and Soekarno Hatta-Tangerang Airport by 12.75 percent.
Soekarno Hatta-Tangerang Airport had the highest number of domestic passengers, reaching 1.4 million or 31.98 percent of the total domestic passengers. This was followed by Juanda-Surabaya with 345,700 passengers, or 8.09 percent of the total domestic passengers.
Meanwhile, the total number of domestic air passengers from January to August 2022 reached 33.9 million, a 91.81 percent increase compared to the same period last year, which saw 17.7 million passengers.
Soekarno Hatta-Tangerang Airport recorded the highest number of passengers with 10.3 million, or 30.34 percent of all domestic passengers, followed by Juanda-Surabaya with 2.8 million passengers, or 8.32 percent of the total domestic passengers.
