PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta)'s revenue from passengers amounted to Rp 280.3 billion in 2020. This figure represents a 58% decrease compared to the previous year, which reached Rp 672.1 billion.
The decline in Transjakarta's revenue is in line with the drop in the number of passengers due to social restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 126.8 million passengers used Transjakarta in 2020, a 51.96% decrease compared to the previous year's 264.03 million passengers.
Based on corridors, Transjakarta's highest revenue came from Corridor I (Blok M - Kota route), amounting to Rp 43.7 billion. This is a 54% decrease from Rp 94 billion in 2019.
Transjakarta's revenue from feeder bus services reached Rp 32.5 billion in 2020. This represents a 74% decrease compared to the previous year's Rp 126.9 billion.
Furthermore, Transjakarta's revenue from Corridor IX (Pinang Ranti - Pluit route) amounted to Rp 30.4 billion last year. Revenue from this corridor decreased by 45% compared to 2019, which reached Rp 55.5 billion.
Meanwhile, the lowest revenue came from the premium service (Royaltrans). The premium service only generated Rp 28.9 million in revenue, a 99.9% decrease from Rp 23.3 billion in 2019.
The Covid-19 pandemic eroded the performance of Indonesia's transportation sector, including Jakarta. BPS (Statistics Indonesia) recorded a 7.53% contraction in the growth of the GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) for transportation and warehousing in the capital city in 2020.
