Electric vehicles were the primary mode of transportation used during the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum 2023 Summit. This international forum was held on October 10-11, 2023, in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali.
According to the official website of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), 430 units were used to serve state guests. These vehicles came from four brands: BMW, Hyundai, Toyota, and Wuling.
The first electric vehicle was the BMW i7, with 236 units prepared to transport VVIP guests such as heads of state.
Next, two Hyundai electric vehicle models were provided: 38 units of the Ioniq 5 and 198 units of the Ioniq 6. These were used to transport VIP guests such as ministers and those at lower levels.
Then there were 66 Toyota bZ4X units, used for delegates accompanying heads of state or ministers during the AIS Forum 2023 Summit.
"This fleet is fixed-route and can only be used from Airport-Hotel-Venue," said Teten Masduki, Head of Vehicle Section, General Bureau of the State Secretariat Ministry (Kemensetneg), in his official statement on Sunday (8/10/2023).
Finally, 100 Wuling Air EVs were used for the operational needs of each country. The use of these vehicles was entrusted to each liaison officer (LO) in each delegation, with the handover having been completed by Kemensetneg to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The organizing committee of the AIS Forum 2023 Summit in Bali also provided free shuttle buses for journalists from several departure points to the Media Center at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) in Nusa Dua. The provision of these vehicles aimed to facilitate the mobility of journalists covering the AIS Forum to and from the Media Center.
