Car sales in Indonesia are increasing, driven by improvements in Covid-19 case management and overall conditions. Indeed, Indonesia remains the leading market for four-wheeled vehicles in Southeast Asia through the third quarter of 2022.
According to data from the ASEAN Automotive Federation, domestic car sales reached 758,216 units in Q3 2022.
This figure represents a 20.8% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to the same period last year (627,537 units). In Q3 2021, car sales in Indonesia totaled 627,537 units.
Thailand ranks second in Southeast Asia for car sales, with 685,979 four-wheeled vehicles sold in the first nine months of this year.
Malaysia is in third place, with car sales totaling 516,798 units in Q3 2022. Meanwhile, the lowest sales of four-wheeled vehicles in the region were in Myanmar, at only 6,672 units.
