PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) recorded 290 million passengers on the Jabodetabek commuter line throughout 2023.
Monthly trends show that Jabodetabek ridership reached 22.71 million in January 2023. The number fluctuated throughout the year, as shown in the graph.
The lowest volume was recorded in February 2023 at 20.81 million passengers, while the highest volume was in December 2023 at 26.86 million passengers.
The Jabodetabek line had the highest number of KRL passengers throughout last year. A total of 331 million passengers were transported in 2023.
The 2023 ridership breakdown is as follows: 290 million on the Jabodetabek commuter line; 7.32 million in Yogyakarta; 3.61 million in Merak; 14.69 million in Bandung; 882,040 on the Prameks line; 13.33 million in Surabaya; and 1.96 million on the Basoetta commuter line.
Jabodetabek KRL stations also had the highest traffic in 2023. Bogor station was the busiest departure and arrival station compared to other lines.
Departures from Bogor contributed 15.30 million passengers in 2023, while arrivals in Bogor reached 15.53 million.
The highest transit volume was recorded at Manggarai Station on December 31, 2023, with 204,480 transit passengers, and at Tanah Abang Station on December 30, 2023, with 153,270 transit passengers.
Transit volume on January 1, 2024, reached 230,860 at Manggarai Station and 155,000 at Tanah Abang Station.
There were 1,100 KRL trips on the Jabodetabek line throughout 2023. This represents a slight 1.7% increase from 2022, which had 1,081 train trips.
