Honda BR-V sales doubled by November 2021.

The domestic automotive market is showing signs of recovery towards the end of the year, driven by increased consumer demand. One Japanese car manufacturer experiencing this surge is Honda, with its BR-V model. Sales of the Honda BR-V doubled between January and November 2021 compared to the same period the previous year.

This positive growth in car sales is partly due to fiscal incentives, specifically the government's reduction in the Luxury Goods Sales Tax (PPnBM DTP) for certain vehicles.

According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), wholesale sales (from the Authorized Distributor to dealers) of the Honda BR-V reached 675 units in November 2021. This figure represents a 131.16% increase compared to the previous month and a 290% increase compared to the same month the previous year. Last month's sales were also the highest in the last two years.

Cumulatively, from January to November 2021, Honda BR-V sales doubled to 2,793 units compared to the same period the previous year.

Sales of the Honda BR-V were largely driven by the BR-V E Prestige variant, which reached 1,320 units between January and November 2021. This 1,500 cc car with a CVT transmission accounted for 47.26% of total sales.

To boost domestic sales, Honda has released the All New Honda BR-V in five variants, priced from Rp 275.9 million to Rp 339.9 million. These vehicles are scheduled for delivery in January of next year.
