KAI's VP of Public Relations, Joni Martinus, stated that the trend of the Eid al-Fitr return flow had been visible since Friday, April 12, 2024, with 214,284 passengers, and Saturday, March 13, 2024, with 215,722 passengers. (Note: There appears to be a typographical error in the original text; March 13th should likely be April 13th).
KAI predicted that the peak of the return flow would continue on Monday, April 15, 2024, with 193,595 long-distance train tickets sold. This number could increase, as ticket sales were still ongoing when this data was reported.
"We express our appreciation to all customers for entrusting their Eid holiday travel to KAI," said Joni in his official statement on Monday, April 15, 2024.
KAI urged train passengers to allocate sufficient time when heading to the departure station to avoid missing their trains.
"Considering the increased traffic congestion during the Eid holiday," said Joni.
