The Central Statistics Agency recorded 32.4 million domestic air passengers in 2020. This figure represents a 57.76% decrease compared to 2019, which reached 76.7 million passengers.
The most significant decline in domestic air passengers occurred at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, reaching 64.17%, or from 4.96 million to 1.8 million passengers. At Juanda Airport in Surabaya, the decrease in domestic air passengers reached 56.3%, from 6.3 million to 2.7 million passengers.
The decrease in domestic air passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang was recorded at 55.27%, from 19.3 million to 8.6 million passengers. The number of domestic air passengers at Kualanamu Airport in Medan decreased by 50.08%, from 2.6 million to 1.3 million passengers.
At Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, the decrease in domestic air passengers reached 46.39%, from 3.4 million to 1.8 million passengers. Meanwhile, at other airports, the number of domestic air passengers decreased by 59.84%, from 40.2 million to 16.1 million passengers.
