The Official Airline Guide (OAG) released its ranking of airlines with the best on-time performance (OTP) in July 2021. OAG defines OTP as a flight departing or arriving within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled departure/arrival time.

Below are the airlines with the best on-time performance in the world in July 2021's On-Time Performance Airlines ranking.

1. Eurowings

Eurowings is the airline with the best on-time performance globally, boasting an on-time performance rate of 98.3%. Eurowings is a low-cost carrier serving domestic and international routes, with its main hub at Düsseldorf Airport, Germany.

2. Safair

Coming in second, this South African airline achieved an on-time performance rate of 97.9%. Safair is based at OR Tambo International Airport, South Africa. It is one of the largest operators of civilian Lockheed L-100 Hercules cargo aircraft and also performs charter flights.

3. JetStar Asia

JetStar Asia achieved an on-time performance rate of 97.4%. This low-cost carrier operates flights from Singapore to approximately 25 destinations in Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

4. Volaris Costa Rica

Volaris Costa Rica secured fourth place with an on-time performance rate of 96.7%. Volaris is a low-cost carrier based in Santa Fe, Mexico, with its operational base at Lic. Adolfo Lopez Mateos International Airport, Toluca.

5. Fuji Dream Airlines

Japanese airline Fuji Dream Airlines took fifth place with an on-time performance rate of 95.2%. This domestic airline is based in Makinohara, Shizuoka, Japan. Fuji Dream Airlines offers tourists the opportunity to get a close-up view of Mount Fuji, one of Japan's iconic mountains.

6. Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines also placed fifth with an on-time performance rate of 94.3%. Singapore Airlines is the flag carrier of Singapore and one of the best airlines in Asia.

7. All Nippon Airways (ANA)

Japan's largest airline, All Nippon Airways, achieved an on-time performance rate of 93.5%. Partnering with over 35 airlines, ANA provides access to 32 international destinations across Asia, Europe, and North America, and around 50 destinations within Japan.

8. IndiGo

IndiGo placed eighth with an on-time performance rate of 92.6%. This airline is a low-cost carrier from Haryana, India, employing an efficient, low-cost model.

9. Thai Airways International

Thai Airways International recorded an on-time performance rate of 92.6%. This Thai national airline was initially established in cooperation with Scandinavian Airlines.

10. GOL Linhas Aereas

GOL Linhas Aereas secured tenth place with an on-time performance rate of 92.6%. This low-cost carrier is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
