The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has issued new regulations regarding the fares for two-wheeled online motorcycle taxis (ojol) in Indonesia, effective August 4, 2022.
These new regulations are stipulated in Minister of Transportation Decree Number KP 564 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for Calculating Service Fees for the Use of Motorcycles Used for Public Interest Conducted through Applications.
Application-based two-wheeled online motorcycle taxi companies must adjust to the new fares within 10 calendar days of the regulation's release. Therefore, ojol fares will increase no later than August 14, 2022.
The following are the details of the new ojol fares that will be in effect no later than August 14, 2022:
Zone I: Sumatra, Java (excluding Jabodetabek), Bali
* Minimum service fee: Rp1,850/km
* Maximum service fee: Rp2,300/km
* Minimum service fee range: Rp9,250–Rp11,500
Zone II: Jabodetabek
* Minimum service fee: Rp2,600/km
* Maximum service fee: Rp2,700/km
* Minimum service fee range: Rp13,000–Rp13,500
Zone III: Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara and surrounding areas, Maluku, Papua
* Minimum service fee: Rp2,100/km
* Maximum service fee: Rp2,600/km
* Minimum service fee range: Rp10,500–Rp13,000
For comparison, the following were the previous ojol fares according to Minister of Transportation Decree Number 348 of 2019, which is no longer in effect:
Zone I:
* Minimum service fee: Rp1,850/km
* Maximum service fee: Rp2,300/km
* Minimum service fee range: Rp7,000–Rp10,000
Zone II:
* Minimum service fee: Rp2,000/km
* Maximum service fee: Rp2,500/km
* Minimum service fee range: Rp8,000–Rp10,000
Zone III:
* Minimum service fee: Rp2,100/km
* Maximum service fee: Rp2,600/km
* Minimum service fee range: Rp7,000–Rp10,000
