According to AirHelp's 2023 Global Airport Ranking report, three Indonesian airports are among the lowest-ranked in the world.
AirHelp ranked 194 of the busiest and most popular airports among air travelers.
The assessment was based on several indicators, including on-time departure rates, customer satisfaction, and supporting facilities such as food and shops at the airport.
Based on these indicators, Syamsudin Noor International Airport received a score of 6.39 out of 10. This airport, located in Banjarmasin, holds the lowest global ranking.
In detail, Syamsudin Noor Airport achieved a score of 6.39 points in the on-time departure category and 5.3 points for customer satisfaction.
For supporting facilities, the airport received a relatively high score of 8 points.
Next is I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, ranked 6th from the bottom, with a score of 6.55 points.
This airport in Bali achieved a score of 5.5 points in terms of on-time flights. Customer satisfaction and supporting facilities received scores of 7.9 and 8.3 points, respectively.
Then there is Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in the 10th lowest position. This Jakarta airport achieved a score of 6.63 points.
This score comprises an on-time departure rating of 5.7 points, and customer satisfaction and supporting facilities scores of 8 and 8.1 points, respectively.
Generally, Indonesian airports are among the lowest-ranked due to on-time performance issues.
