PT Jasa Marga recorded a surge in vehicles leaving Jabodetabek on May 2-3, 2022, or H1 and H2 of Eid al-Fitr 2022. Jasa Marga recorded a total of 372,459 vehicles leaving the area.
This figure is a cumulative total of traffic flow from four toll gates (GT): Cikupa Toll Gate (Merak direction), Ciawi Toll Gate (Puncak direction), and Cikampek Utama and Kalihurip Utama Toll Gates (Trans Java and Bandung direction).
"The total traffic volume leaving the Jabodetabek area increased by 40.7% compared to the normal traffic volume in November 2021, which totaled 264,801 vehicles," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, in a written statement on Wednesday (4/5/2022).
Of that number, the most vehicles traveled east towards Trans Java and Bandung, totaling 216,562 or 58.1% of the total vehicles leaving Jabodetabek. This breaks down to 134,666 vehicles passing through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate and 81,896 vehicles passing through Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate.
Then, 84,214 vehicles, or 22.6%, traveled south towards Puncak via the Ciawi Toll Gate on the Jagorawi Toll Road. Finally, 71,683 vehicles, or 19.2%, traveled west towards Merak via the Cikupa Toll Gate.
Based on cumulative data, Dwimawan stated that from H-10 to the second day of Eid al-Fitr 2022, a total of 2.1 million vehicles left Jabodetabek. This number is up 22% compared to normal traffic volume.
