The East Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Timur) recorded a total of 23,258,683 motor vehicles. This is the highest number among all provinces in Indonesia.
Of this total, 9,473,861 units are passenger cars, 13,160,756 units are motorcycles, 591,177 units are trucks, 27,997 units are buses, and 4,500 are special vehicles. This data is based on korlantas.polri.go.id, which publishes the number of registered motor vehicles in each Polda, updated on January 16, 2022, at 23:39 WIB.
Meanwhile, the Metro Jaya Regional Police, the regional police in Jakarta, recorded a total of 21,797,161 motor vehicles. This figure is the second highest in Indonesia.
Central Java and West Java hold the third and fourth ranks, respectively, in terms of registered motor vehicles. These two provinces recorded 19,169,120 units and 17,621,415 units, respectively.
Apart from these four provinces, no other province has more than 10 million motor vehicles. North Sumatra is in fifth place with 7,191,168 motor vehicles, followed by South Sulawesi with 4,632,764 units.
In total, all Regional Police across the provinces recorded 146,046,066 motor vehicles. Motorcycles dominate this number, accounting for 117,679,559 units.
