The Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, met with the Governor of Jakarta Special Capital Region, Promono Anung, to discuss the transportation preparations for Lebaran 2026 at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (18/2/2026).
On this occasion, he said that Jakarta is one of the provinces with the highest public mobility nationwide for the 2026 Idul Fitri homecoming period.
In line with this, the 2026 Lebaran Transportation Survey predicts that 3.67 million vehicles will leave Jakarta from the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT), Kalihurip Utama GT, and Cikupa GT.
These vehicles are projected to leave Jakarta during the H-10 to H+11 period of Lebaran, with the peak of the homecoming traffic occurring on Wednesday (18/3/2026), amounting to 259,000 vehicles.
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles entering Jakarta from the Cikampek Utama GT, Kalihurip GT, Ciawi GT, and Cikupa GT is predicted to be 3.54 million vehicles.
The projected entry of vehicles will occur during the H-10 to H+11 period of Lebaran, with the peak of the return traffic predicted to occur on Monday (24/3/2026), amounting to 285,000 vehicles.
Dudy hopes that the establishment of Lebaran 2026 service and monitoring posts will ensure the readiness of the fleet, including driver health checks.
He also urged the Jakarta Special Capital Region Government to provide security personnel at congestion-prone points, ensure the readiness of alternative routes, and ensure the smooth flow of homecoming traffic.
"Providing information on homecoming and promoting safety awareness is also important, including promoting safe driving for private vehicle users," he said in a written statement.
