Flight analysis company Cirium has released a list of airlines with the best on-time arrival records in the Asia-Pacific region in 2024.
Cirium calculates airline on-time performance based on flights that arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.
In 2024, Japan Airlines (JAL), a Japanese airline, had the highest on-time performance score in the region, at 80.90% out of a total of 314,774 flights.
This means that almost 81% of Japan Airlines flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.
Cirium Senior Data Analyst Isaac Pato believes that Japanese work culture plays a significant role in Japan Airlines' achievement.
"This country is globally known for its emphasis on punctuality, meticulous planning, and technological innovation, which is perfectly reflected in JAL's daily operations," Isaac wrote in his report.
Another Japanese airline, All Nippon Airways, ranked second with an on-time performance of 80.62% from 303,464 flights.
Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia ranked 8th in the Asia-Pacific region with an on-time performance score of 75.30% from a total of 76,816 flights operated throughout last year.

9. Cathay Pacific: 75.19%
10. Qantas: 73.93%
