PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, reported that the number of passengers using executive class train services from January to September 2024 reached 9.43 million.
This figure shows a 5.72% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to the same period last year, which transported 8.92 million passengers.
“Executive class train services offer a comfortable travel option for passengers who prioritize comfort,” said KAI Vice President of Public Relations, Anne Purba, in a press release on Friday, October 11, 2024.
During this period, the Joglosemarkerto train (KA 167) was the most popular executive class train in Indonesia, with 309,456 passengers.
It was followed by the Kertajaya train (KA 220) with 279,203 passengers; the Matarmaja train (KA 233) with 278,638 passengers; the Jayakarta train (KA 217) with 275,942 passengers; and the Logawa train (KA 212) with 261,707 passengers.
Anne stated that KAI continues to innovate and improve customer satisfaction to remain relevant with the times.
One example is the introduction of the New Generation executive train, which has been implemented on several routes such as the Argo Dwipangga, Argo Lawu, Taksaka, Bromo Anggrek, and Lodaya trains.
“We hope that public interest in using safe, comfortable, secure, and punctual mass rail transportation will continue to grow,” said Anne.
