Motorcycle Sales Data in Southeast Asia up to July 2024

Based on data from the ASEAN Automotive Federation (AAF), motorcycle sales in ASEAN reached 6.1 million units from January to July 2024. This figure is down 0.2% year-on-year (YoY).

The AAF compiled this two-wheeled vehicle sales data from five Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

During this period, Indonesia recorded the highest sales with 3.77 million units, a 2.5% YoY increase. This volume represents 62% of total motorcycle sales in ASEAN.

Thailand ranked second with motorcycle sales of 1.04 million units, down 9% YoY. The Philippines followed with 960,890 units, up 3.1% YoY.

Sales in Malaysia reached 320,499 units, down 8.4% YoY. Meanwhile, only 7,283 units were sold in Singapore, up 3.6% YoY.

The AAF also noted that motorcycle production in these five Southeast Asian countries reached 6.27 million units from January to July 2024, a decrease of 2.5% YoY.

Indonesia was the largest producer with a production volume of 4.06 million units, followed by Thailand with 1.12 million units, the Philippines with 777,319 units, and Malaysia with 312,553 units.
