Gojek has reportedly secured another US$1.2 billion in funding, equivalent to Rp 18 trillion at an exchange rate of Rp 15,000 per US dollar. This funding round comes from three existing investors: Tencent Holdings, Google, and JD.com.
According to Crunchbase.com, this is Gojek's seventh funding round. The online transportation application company, founded by Nadiem Makarim, received undisclosed funding in its first four rounds. The subsequent three rounds, totaling US$3.25 billion (approximately Rp 48.75 trillion), were publicly announced.
Initially, Gojek was solely an internet-based motorcycle taxi application. However, it has since expanded to become a comprehensive platform providing various services to the public, including document services, goods delivery, house cleaning, and daily food ordering.
