Based on the Official Airline Guide (AOG) report titled *The AOG Megahubs Index 2023*, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport ranks 19th out of 50 of the world's most connected airports.
Compared to 2019, this position has dropped by three ranks. Previously, this airport (CGK code) occupied the 16th position.
Batik Air, an airline from the Lion Air Group, contributed the most passengers from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, holding a 21% share of total flights.
Meanwhile, London Heathrow International Airport in the UK ranks first as the world's most connected airport. The LHR-coded airport has consistently held the top position since 2019.
"British Airways remains the dominant airline at London Heathrow, operating 50% of all flights," AOG wrote in its report.
Second place is occupied by John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), located in the United States. KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines is the most dominant airline at this airport, with a 53% flight share. (Note: The original text incorrectly states JFK is in the Netherlands).

In this report, AOG uses a connectivity index to measure the effectiveness of international airport hubs worldwide as connecting points, both globally and regionally.
The ranking is generated by comparing the number of scheduled international departure and arrival connections with the number of destinations served from the airport.
