Starting March 20, 2023, the government will provide incentives in the form of tax adjustments for electric vehicle buyers. The incentive is planned for 35,900 electric vehicles.
However, this incentive will only be given to battery electric vehicles (BEVs), while hybrid vehicles or HEVs will not receive any allocation.
Previously, in December 2022, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita announced plans to subsidize hybrid car purchases by Rp 40 million. However, this plan has now been cancelled.
"(Hybrid electric vehicles) will not receive government assistance," said Agus Gumiwang, as reported by Detik.com, Tuesday (March 7, 2023).
