Sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Indonesia strengthened significantly in the first half of 2023.
Based on data from the Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers Association (Gaikindo), wholesale sales of BEVs in the domestic market reached 5,849 units from January to June 2023.
This figure represents a 1,081% increase compared to January-June 2022, when sales totaled only 495 units.
In the first half of this year, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Signature Extended became the best-selling BEV in Indonesia in terms of wholesale sales, surpassing the Wuling Air EV Long Range, which was the market leader in 2022.

* Wuling Air EV Standard Range: 56 units

* BMW i440 Gran Coupe: 39 units
* Mini Cooper SE Hatch: 39 units
* DFSK Gelora EC36 Mini Bus 1.5: 32 units
