According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), in April 2023, wholesale sales volume of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in the domestic market reached 2,870 units.
This achievement increased by 32% compared to March 2023 (month-on-month/mom), and even surged by 1,327% compared to April of the previous year (year-on-year/yoy).
Cumulatively, during the January-April 2023 period, the wholesale sales volume of hybrid cars reached 9,287 units.
The best-selling hybrid car during this period was the Toyota All New Kijang Innova Zenix Q Modellista.

In general, wholesale sales of hybrid cars have shown significant growth, even without government incentives.
Starting in April 2023, the government provided incentives in the form of a 10% Value Added Tax (VAT) discount, specifically for consumers of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of at least 40%.
