The market research firm Populix released a survey report, *Indonesian Modern Consumption*, which examines Indonesian consumer behavior, including the use of electric vehicles.
The survey results show that the majority, or 85%, of respondents do not yet own an electric vehicle. 13% of respondents own an electric motorcycle, and only 7% own an electric car.
The most popular electric car among Indonesian consumers is Tesla. 43% of respondents stated they intend to buy a Tesla electric car within the next 5 years.
Furthermore, 27% of respondents are interested in buying a Hyundai electric car, 24% chose Toyota, and 22% chose BMW.
13% of respondents want to buy a Nissan, 10% chose Lexus, and only 9% chose Porsche.
For electric motorcycles, United is the most desired brand among respondents, with 25%. This is followed by Viar at 24% and Gesits at 19%.
The survey also shows that Tesla is the most commonly owned electric car among respondents. The most commonly owned electric motorcycle is United.
This survey was conducted in Indonesia between January 3rd and 9th, 2022. It involved 1,002 respondents, comprising 523 men and 479 women, aged 18 to 55 years old.
