Whoosh High-Speed Train Ticket Prices Increase to Rp200,000 per December 2023

The Indonesia China High-Speed Rail Company (KCIC) is implementing a new promotional fare starting December 1, 2023. This follows the end of the Whoosh high-speed train ticket promotion of Rp150,000 on November 30, 2023.

KCIC President Director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi explained that the promotional scheme for Whoosh high-speed train tickets is divided into two periods: Rp200,000 for Monday-Thursday and Rp250,000 for Friday-Sunday.

This promotional ticket applies to Premium Economy class and includes travel on the feeder train (KA Feeder) from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station and vice versa.

"Whoosh High-Speed Rail is a commercial rail service, so its fare will use a dynamic pricing strategy and follow passenger demand, whether during high season or low season," said Dwiyana in his official statement on Friday (24/11/2023).

Dwiyana stated that the price increase is a strategic step to optimize service, effectively manage capacity, and maintain service standards.

In addition to the price increase, KCIC is also increasing the number of daily Whoosh trips to 40 trips for Monday-Thursday and 48 trips for Friday-Sunday.

From its initial operation on October 17 to November 22, 2023, the Whoosh high-speed train has served 491,000 passengers with an average occupancy rate of 80-90% on each train set.

The highest average number of passengers reached 21,000 per day on weekends and 18,000 per day on weekdays.

"The increase in passenger volume and high occupancy on each train journey indicates that the level of public trust and interest is very positive in making the Whoosh high-speed train their preferred mode of transportation," said Dwiyana in his statement.
