In April 2023, the Mitsubishi Xpander claimed the top spot as Indonesia's best-selling car, with 3,474 wholesale units sold. This achievement displaced the Honda Brio, which held the title throughout 2022 and for the first three months of 2023.
According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), Mitsubishi sold 1,808 units of the Xpander and 1,939 units of the Xpander Cross variant.
Following the Xpander was the Toyota Avanza with 3,727 units sold. The Toyota Kijang Innova secured third place with 3,645 units.
Next, the Toyota Calya took fourth place with 3,131 units sold, followed by the Suzuki Carry in fifth place with 2,861 units sold last month.
The Honda Brio's April 2023 sales reached only 673 units, placing it outside the top 10 best-selling cars and ranking 20th.

Overall, wholesale car sales in April 2023 reached 58,911 units. This figure represents a 42% decrease compared to the previous month (month-on-month/MoM).
Compared to the same period last year, wholesale car sales in April 2023 also fell by 28.8% (year-on-year/YoY).
