Indonesia's Non-Oil and Gas Imports Increased in July 2023, Highest from China

Based on a report by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's non-oil and gas imports reached US$16.44 billion in July 2023, a 10.10% increase compared to the previous month (month-on-month/mom).

According to BPS, this increase was driven by a rise in non-oil and gas imports from several trading partner countries, with the largest nominal increase coming from China.

In July 2023, non-oil and gas imports from China reached US$5.54 billion, a 14.34% increase compared to the previous month.

The next largest source of non-oil and gas imports was the combined countries of the ASEAN region, with total imports valued at US$2.62 billion, a 14.86% monthly increase.

Following this was the European Union, which recorded non-oil and gas imports to Indonesia of US$1.53 billion, a 27.81% increase compared to the previous month.

Japan and South Korea each supplied non-oil and gas goods to Indonesia valued at US$1.41 billion and US$909 million, respectively. Imports from both countries also recorded growth of 1.49% and 21.11%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the United States, Australia, India, and Taiwan supplied non-oil and gas goods to Indonesia with values as shown in the graph.
